Where does the American cockroach live?
American cockroaches are considered peridomestic - meaning they can live both indoors and outdoors. Talking about living preferences, this cockroach species are preferer live outdoors in a humid environment and widely found around harbouring in and around drains, sewer systems, garbage bins, trees and wood piles.
However, it does not rule out the possibility to see American cockroach wander inside home when they experience a food shortage outdoors. In these instances, they will often live in damp areas such as garages, bathrooms and kitchens.
Where does the German cockroach live?
German cockroaches prefer to live indoor where humans live. The German cockroach is a widely known as urban pest and consider as one of the formidable enemies for many households in Indonesia.
The majority of the German cockroach population will live in areas which are warm and humid - where it also close to food and water sources, such as a kitchen or a bathroom.
Even so, it isn’t uncommon to find German cockroaches move to other locations in your house especially when the population gets bigger!
Where does the brown banded cockroach live?
Similar but not the same, brown banded cockroach is often mistaken with the German cockroach, but its habits are different.
Brown banded cockroach are prefer warm and dry areas to live, such as cabinets, electronic equipment or around refrigerator motor parts. In ideal temperature conditions (30°c), the adult brown banded cockroach may lives 90 – 115 days.
